Mini Pilot Projects

Several crossmunicipal mini pilot projects will be carried out with participation from network members. The purpose is to foster learning, innovation, and new knowledge, as well as to test and qualify the indicator framework.

The mini pilot projects are carried out in groups of three to four municipalities per project, in collaboration with a biosphere area. The projects aim to test concrete methods on a smaller scale with a focus on learning, indicator testing, and documentation.

The mini pilot projects will focus on:

• testing a specific approach locally
• documenting experiences systematically
• engaging in professional peer learning across the Nordic countries
• contributing to testing a municipaladapted indicator framework for implementing the global biodiversity targets

Each pilot group receives a financial grant of 50,000 DKK to support testing and documentation.

At the final Nordic conference in autumn 2027, the pilot projects will serve as flagships in communicating documented experiences and ‘next practice’ examples.

At this stage, municipalities are being invited to participate in the pilot projects. The first cases will be published here as the projects are initiated and documented.
